The Korean Fair Trade Commission has published the MLM sales figures for 2023 based on data submitted by each company. The total revenue of the MLM industry in South Korea for 2023 was $3.79 billion, marking an 8.4% decrease from the $4.16 billion recorded in 2022.

The sales of the top 10 MLM companies, which account for the majority of the industry’s revenue, also experienced an average decline of 7.7%.

On a positive note, PM International, a German company, saw slight growth, and Vial, a Korean stem cell-based cosmetics company, grew by 24.9% due to active organizational expansion by its members.

The decline in sales for most companies is largely attributed to the sluggish Korean economy. Rising prices and increased interest rates have reduced disposable income, making consumers more reluctant to purchase products. This trend is evident in the decreased sales of companies with relatively broad consumer bases, such as Amway and Atomy.

Unicity’s revenue drop was partly due to top leaders leaving the company to start their own venture, Incutten. This led to a significant reduction in both organizational size and sales. For reference, Incutten's revenue for 2023 was $30 million.
